Profile: Graduating senior Jhordin shares his story
By Kevin B.
Jhordin Chino is a student at Diego Rivera Learning Complex, a part of the graduating class of 2021. He is 18 years old and he is most known for his outgoing and nice personality. He is an interesting person of many different kinds of hobbies, all starting from a young age. “I feel like I was always angry and distant as a child,” he says. “I liked boxing and a lot of things that had to do with the military. My living situation, I used to live in a pretty stable home with my mom and dad but after the separation, we moved about 3 times.”
He always tries to listen to his mom and to always be nice to people. He says, “I always told myself I would never be like my dad getting into trouble with the law. I always tried to do the right thing even when I didn’t want to at times but I’d never let temptation get the best of me. I saw my uncle as a good role model. I always try to be like him because if he wants something he gets it and he’s always in a good mood.”
Always trying to do the right thing led him to who he is today and how he faced the pandemic. According to Jhordin, “It was hard sometimes I couldn’t log in to Zoom or Schoology but I have been successful in doing my work.”
After interviewing Jhordin, I think he is an awesome person and I hope everything goes good for him in the future.
