This past spring semester, Mr. Dinh asked his English 9 honors students to flex their writing skills, their research skills, and their compassion in an essay advocating for solutions to an issue that mattered to them. He asked them:
The politics of the world you live in are more contentious and controversial than ever, and it is your unit final project to speak on an issue that affects your community. What is the most pressing issue facing young people today, why is it important, and what should be done to address it?
