Junior spotlight: Jocelyn the nail artist

By Rene H.

If you ask 11th grader Jocelyn what her favorite hobby is she would say it was her nail business because that’s what she has a passion for doing.

Her nail business is what she did to keep herself entertained during quarantine.

She also said “I always had a passion for nails and being creative” so this would also distract her from other things.

Her passion for nails came from seeing other nail techs and her creativity because she believed she was able to make many designs with what she thought would look pretty.

But Jocelyn doesn’t just like nails she also has a business that she organized that she made to her liking like her own rules and prices for customers.

She also does have customers that frequently go with her to do their nails mostly monthly.

Jocelyn talked about how her prices for nails work and sizes when she does them. Jocelyn said that “It depends on the length and what type of design they get”

She charges depending on the length of the nails.

If they are short it is cheaper versus if it’s longer they are more expensive and cost more .

Throughout Jocelyn’s whole nail business career she talked about her favorite set that she has done and why it was her favorite.

She said that “My favorite set was an all blue rhinestone set because of how blingy it was.”

She talked about how this was her favorite set because she put a lot of effort in time into putting gems and add ons and also her favorite kind of nails is when they would be really blingy.

Overall this was her favorite set of nails she has ever done and always talks about them when she says she is a nail tech.
