I’m reviewing Sucker Punch’s latest game exclusive to the Playstation 4, Ghost of Tsushima. Ghost of Tsushima takes place when mongols attack the island of Tsushima on Komoda beach. The story behind it involves a samurai named Jin Sakai getting rid of the mongols from his home place but also struggling to keep his samurai morals true to him and his honor in tact. He will do anything to rid the mongols from his hometown.

Story

The story of Ghost of Tsushima is an amazing tale to hear and experience. You are a samurai named Jin Sakai whose uncle (Lord Shimura) has been taken by the mongol leader. The Khan. You fall at Komoda beach but a thief by the name of Yuna rescues you and nurses you back to health. So you rush in blind to rescue your Uncle but fail. Now you’ll need to break your samurai code for the better of the people. Then it’ll be off to kill the Khan. Along the way you make friends to help you free your uncle. But be weary.

Gameplay Modes

Sucker punch added a 4-player co-op multiplayer mode to Tsushima called Legends. What Legends has to offer is that you are playing stories being told by a blind storyteller called Gyouzen. He tells tales of ghosts which consists of Samurai, Hunter, Assassin, and Ronin stopping Iyo from destroying Tsushima. Legends has 3 modes to offer. A 4 player co-op where you survive either 15, 20, or 25 waves of enemies depending on what difficulty you have chosen. Then there’s 2 player co-op where you play the story and find out why Iyo is doing the things she is doing. Lastly if every player in your party has finished all story chapters they do the Tale of Iyo. Which consists of a very difficult challenge and you need teamwork as well as someone increasing morale because trust me at the end you’re going to want to kick your teammates ass. But the story the 3 tales tell is amazing and you truly feel sorry for Iyo as her anger is in the right place.

Graphics

Now what can I say about the graphics of Ghost of Tsushima, other than it is amazing. You just think to yourself, look at the game Kill Zone when the PS4 first released; now look at this beauty of Ghost of Tsushima. How far we have gotten.  So beautiful and mesmerizing, truly looks real and the shaders make it convincing. You look at the graphics and can’t help to stop on top of a mountain to see the sun setting the sky shining orange and you just take it in. Truly peaceful. As a stilt image of nature was placed.

Overall Thoughts

IT IS AN AMAZING GAME. When I first saw Ghost of Tsushima in the E3 2016 showcase I was in awe on how amazing the game looked. So when it was released I stayed up playing it and I was just in awe. Great story, graphics, and the legends is amazing that I managed to get a lot of my friends to buy it just to play it. The photo mode is so good. 10/10 game. It was robbed of the Game of the Year award.
