“Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” is a limited TV series on Netflix about serial killer Jeffery Dahmer.

This TV series is based on a true story that involved the murder of 17 men and boys in Milwaukee between 1978 and 1991. The series is very gory and extremely disturbing, so if you don’t like that type of stuff, then you probably don’t want to watch it.

The first seven episodes show how Dahmer, who is played by Emmy-award winner Evan Peters, finally got caught for all of his murders. The rest of the show has mostly flashbacks about his other killings and depicts everyone else’s point of view. Aside from Peters, the cast includes Niecy Nash, Richard Jenkins, Molly Ringwald, and many more.

Peters’ performance as Dahmer was chilling and very terrifying. What made his acting so believable and chilling was this one scene where Dahmer is apologizing to his neighbor, Glenda (Niecy Nash) and telling her that he was sorry about the strange smell in his apartment and gives her a sandwich, which she declines immediately and he tried to force her to eat at some point which gave me chills. He is such an amazing and incredible actor and he definitely deserves all this recognition and I also hope he wins another Emmy.

Not only was Evan’s performance incredible, but also Niecy Nash as Dahmer’s neighbor, Glenda Cleveland, did such an amazing and emotional performance. What made her performance stand out was this one scene where she is talking to Reverend Jackson and she tells him everything about how she knew something was wrong with Dahmer. What broke me was that no one, especially the cops, believed her.

Finally I wanted to talk about how this show isn’t just about Dahmer, but about his victims and their families and showed what happened before and after the tragedies of their deaths.

However, many of the victims families were upset over the release of the series. As this Vox article explains, “Multiple family members have spoken out to make it clear that neither Netflix nor the creators consulted them or asked for their permission to use their stories in the 10-episode series.”

In my opinion, the show was very interesting, even if terrifying, to watch, but it was still a very good show overall. Also, If you want to see more films or TV programs that the actor is in, I recommend watching “American Horror Story,” which is one of my favorite shows. Finally, I just wanted to say that my heart goes out to all victims’ families because they all deserved so much better.
