Looting has followed in the wake of protests across the country, just as many retailers and restaurants were reopening from the pandemic. While people were out protesting for justice, others took advantage of the situation to do crimes like looting, burning down things, stealing, and much more. Some stores actually decided to respond to these actions and you wouldn’t believe what they had to say!

On May 25th the life of George Floyd was taken by Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin in what was supposed to be an arrest not a murder. Videos capturing the arrest turned murder show Floyd (a man of color) with Chauvin’s knee placed on his neck preventing him from being able to breathe. Floyd is heard repeatedly telling the officer he couldn’t breathe. However, Chauvin ignored him, resulting in his murder. As a result thousands of people from all races, communities and around the world have come together in many ways to show support for black lives. With some not allowed to go to the Black Lives Matter protests because of COVID-19 or they’re teenagers whose parents fear that may not be safe to be around if things get ugly or any other reason, here’s how support comes in many different ways from many people.

While most students don’t always get accepted to their first choice, they have other options to explore once they start seeing their acceptance letters. One student got as many 6 acceptance letters. He enjoys spending time with his family whenever he can, including 4 kids and a grandson. Did you know that Suarez was in a band? Suarez was in a band back then, before she was a teacher. When Ms. Suarez was in high school she did many interesting things, including starting a band with her and a couple of her friends. She was in the band for about 7 years the instrument that she played the guitar. During that time Suarez toured around the world, some of the places she traveled to were United States, Europe, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico, and Japan. When asked about her experience she said, “It was an incredible experience and I learned so much about making music, and just being a person in the world.”
In Los Angeles, California during January 7th through the 11th, teachers were planning to strike against LAUSD if a reasonable agreement was not met.UTLA and LAUSD met every day during January 7th through 11th to get an agreement to happen to avoid the strike. In preparation for the strike teachers prepared their students by giving them information on how things were going to work during the strike.

You see a man running towards two women, he pushes one and says “out of my way b***h”. Then, he swoops the second girl off her feet and swings her dramatically. Little did you know we had an actor in our CATS family and that man is teaching you HISTORY!
