Music Review: Looking forward to ‘The Weeknd’

We all have listened to The Weeknd at some point, whether it’s by choice or on repeat on the radio — and the radio seems to be an inspiration for his newest album called “Dawn FM.”
“Dawn FM” already hit many sales and streams. Just in the first week, the album hit No. 3 on Top Album Sales and No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Very impressive, if I do say so myself. Since then, it has hit No. 1 and has kept steady on the Billboard 200 ever since it came out.
What is so good about the music you may ask? The Weeknd’s latest album has given us a more evolved beat, a kind of music that sounds familiar but different at the same time. It even features an unusual guest: the actor and comedian Jim Carrey.
Each song gives off futuristic vibes but at the same time it also feels like some Michael Jackson vibes. The Weeknd has added 16 songs to his latest album “Dawn FM” and each and every single song has a very different rhythm and flow.
I would rate the whole album a 7 out of 10. Why am I giving that rating? Well there are some songs that did not reach their potential, like “Gasoline.” There are good songs that hit the billboard like “Less Than Zero,” “Out of Time,” and “Sacrifice.” Those songs carry and save the album. To me there were like five good songs that I kept listening to on repeat, seven decent songs and then the other four, which were not the right rhythm for me, flopped.
If people want to try to give an album a try, I would recommend listening to the most popular songs in the album. That would keep you in the vibe and maybe even like the songs that were considered flops. I would keep the album on repeat for a few times.

¿Qué es tan bueno acerca de la música que usted puede pedir? El último álbum de The Weeknd nos ha dado un ritmo más evolucionado, un tipo de música que suena familiar pero diferente al mismo tiempo. Incluso cuenta con un invitado inusual: el actor y comediante Jim Carrey.
Cada canción emite vibraciones futuristas, pero al mismo tiempo también se siente como algunas vibraciones de Michael Jackson. The Weeknd ha agregado 16 canciones a su último álbum “Dawn FM” y todas y cada una de las canciones tienen un ritmo y un flujo muy diferentes.
Calificaría todo el álbum con un 7 sobre 10. ¿Por qué le doy esa calificación? Bueno, hay algunas canciones que no alcanzaron su potencial, como “Gasolina”. Hay buenas canciones que llegan a la cartelera como “Less Than Zero”, “Out of Time” y “Sacrifice”. Esas canciones llevan y guardan el álbum. Para mí había como cinco buenas canciones que seguí escuchando una y otra vez, siete canciones decentes y luego las otras cuatro, que no tenían el ritmo adecuado para mí, fracasaron.
Si la gente quiere probar un álbum, recomendaría escuchar las canciones más populares del álbum. Eso te mantendría en el ambiente y tal vez incluso te gustarían las canciones que se consideraron fracasos. Mantendría el álbum en repetición unas cuantas veces.
